A Good Time
A crispness in the air, an apprehension of good things soon to come, silentness, a gaiety, a peacefulness, a final blaze of color before the last leaves of autumn find their way to the ground.
A reverent solitude as the first flakes of snow descend from heaven. An expression of awe and well being when at last the sleepy world is covered in a blanket of silent white. Within, a merriment, a holiday spirit, a happiness, a contentment, the savory odors of baking, the mystery of packages wrapped in bright coverings. The joy of a home, of being with each other. The feasting of Thanksgiving, the tense excitement of Christmas morning when the children first peek at the lighted tree. The fun of January and February, of gliding on silver skates or flying on the wings of youth down a hill laughing and singing with others. The joy of seeing the last of winter go and the magic of spring burst forth, winter is a warm time a happy, contented time. A time of peace, of thanksgiving, of rejoicing. A quiet time, a gay time, a good time.
