I was dreaming when I saw us walking slowly through the summer
I was dreaming in the sunshine from the ocean
I was dreaming when you touched me with our fingers barely meeting.
I was dreaming that you loved me, I was dreaming.
I was dreaming when you left me and I waited for returning.
I was dreaming on the sidewalk of a lovely leafy autumn
Now it’s winter and my dreaming has awakened to a knowing
Still it seemed like such real thing, I was dreaming.
All my singing, all my laughter it has softened to a sadness
And I linger where we walked along the beach by the cold and cloudy ocean
When the spring comes I’ll still wonder
Could that be you coming toward me in the distance
But I know now, and still can’t help it, that I’ll
keep dreaming till the day you come again
